Following Agnico Eagle's positive investment decision in 2026, Hope Bay is moving into its next stage of development. The plan includes establishing a long-term underground mining operation, upgrading the processing facility, expanding underground development and enhancing site infrastructure. With continued exploration across the property, the project is expected to support decades of future mining activity.
The project is expected to produce approximately 400,000 to 435,000 ounces of gold annually over an initial mine life of 11 years, with further exploration continuing across the property.
Government support is also helping advance the project, including $25 million in federal funding for the Hope Bay Wind Project, which will add renewable energy generation and battery storage to the site's existing power system. Together, these investments are helping prepare Hope Bay for the future while supporting economic opportunities across Northern Canada.
