This unit utilizes an infrared sensor that activates the drying cycle once hands are placed in the drying sensor zone. The hands-free automatic activation is great at helping to eliminate the spread of germs and bacteria the matter where you mount. In addition to being extremely easy to use this surface mounted unit is extremely durable, it's cover is constructed of grey cast iron with porcelain enamel on all exterior surfaces.
