Overview
The MBR processes used in sequence are as follows:
-
primary treatment using fine screening (2mm perforated plate drum screen)
-
biological nutrient removal including anoxic (denitrification) zone and aerobic (nitrification) zone with dissolved oxygen control
-
membrane operating system (MOS) for filtration
Key advantages of an MBR wastewater treatment package plant are:

High-quality effluent, with very low suspended solids and strong removal of bacteria and pathogens.

Small footprint, because the membrane unit replaces a large secondary clarifier, making it suitable for tight sites and modular package plants.

Better reuse potential, since the treated water can often be used for irrigation, toilet flushing, or industrial applications.

Strong and stable treatment performance, because the membranes retain biomass and allow high mixed liquor concentrations.

Easier expansion and packaging, since decentralized MBR systems are often built in modular, pre-engineered units that deploy quickly.

Lower sludge production than many conventional systems, which can reduce sludge handling costs.

For a package plant specifically, the biggest practical benefits are compactness, fast deployment, and consistently high effluent quality
